CAN THO MARATHON HERITAGE RACE

The Can Tho Marathon Heritage Race made its grand debut in December 2019, brought to life by DHA Vietnam in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (DCST) of Can Tho and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. Its first edition was an overwhelming success, attracting over 1,300 participants from Vietnam and 20 other countries and territories.

Recognizing the event’s significance in showcasing the vibrant cityscape of Can Tho and the unique cultural essence of the Mekong Delta, city officials have officially established the Can Tho Marathon Heritage Race as an iconic annual event. Held every December during the region’s most favorable weather, the race is a beacon of pride for the city. DHA Vietnam has been granted a 10-year license to organize the event, spanning 2021 to 2030.

The course of the Can Tho Marathon Heritage Race is a breathtaking journey designed to ignite the spirit of every runner. Participants experience the joy of running through bustling streets under the fresh morning sun, marvel at iconic landmarks like Ninh Kieu Wharf, Chau Van Liem High School, Luu Huu Phuoc Park, and the Historical Crescent Boulevard, and soak in the timeless charm of the Cai Rang Floating Market. The serene beauty of the Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery further enhances the journey, offering a truly unique perspective on the cultural treasures of the Mekong Delta.
